Emissions and immunity testing

Compliance with European Community Directive from 2004 regarding Electromagnetic Compatibility, 2004/108/CE, is mandatory. The intent es to guarantee the correct operation of all devices that use energy to operate, regardless of whether they are battery, operated or must be connected to the electrical grid.

Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) seeks to ensure that an electronic product can guarantee operation in the environmento for which it has been designed. It must not interfere with other electronic devices or be afeected by them. Two types of tests are performed in order to achieve this:

  • Emmisions tests, which measure what the equipmento emits
  • Innunity tests, which measure the robustness of the equipment with regard to aggressions from other devices.

The following are some sectors whose products must comply with this Directive:

  • Access control and alarm systems
  • Control and remote control equipment
  • Domotic systems
  • Telemedicine equipment
  • Lifting systems
  • Instrumentation
  • Vending machines
  • Household appliances
  • Machine tools
  • Special machinery
  • Laboratory equipment
  • Instrumentation and control systems (in general)
  • Electromedicine
  • Renewable energies
  • Information technologies

CEMITEC has the means mecessary to perform EMC emission and immunity tests corresponding to different regulations:
